Welcome to the Expohouse B&B, Antwerp.

Situated in the residential expo area of the renowned fashion city of Antwerp, the Expohouse B&B offers accommodation comprising of 5 rooms and a studio apartment.

The building dates from the Art Deco period and is enhanced by the aesthetic modernism of the adjoining property. The B&B has undergone a meticulous renovation with the interiors retaining the distinct features and form of 1930’s modernism.

You will receive a very warm and friendly welcome by the owners Ilse and Jan who will also respect each and everyone’s privacy within this surprisingly unique and cosy environment.

Rooms and breakfast

All rooms are fully equipped for comfort with private bathrooms and rainfall showers. Breakfast is served in the wonderful living room on the ground floor. This public space doubles up as a lounge where you can relax during the day and/or evening and enjoy the wonderful view of the Japanese garden. The annexed open kitchen may be used by guests for refreshments, coffee and tea.

The Standard room

The Studio

The studio is situated on the ground floor of the adjoining house number 3. It has a small kitchen and private bathroom which overlooks an inspiring garden.View room

Breakfast

Prepared with fresh locally produced organic products where possible, breakfast is served in style on the ground floor. Cereals, fruit salad, yogurt, eggs and seasonal vegetables are amongst the ‘mouthwatering’ choices available. Guests are requested to have breakfast preferably between 8:00am and 10:00am. An earlier time is also negotiable. Please share any of your dietary allergies during the reservation process.

Just for one night, we took a holiday in the city where we live, which is a stone’s throw from where I grew up. I was pleasantly surprised by the beauty of the neighbourhood park and surrounding area. Our local walks did not disappoint. Why have I never ventured into this part of Antwerp before? Our hosts, Ilse and Jan, have painstakingly renovated the Expohouse to such a high standard. The architectural history, comfort, tranquility and beauty of the neighbourhood has been captured throughout this wonderful residence. This has also been achieved through a collection of books, the colour palette and the use of miniature artworks on show throughout the building. This intimate atmosphere is seldom realised in regular hotels. The breakfast, which was healthy and hearty, was served with such hospitality by our wonderful hosts. If you’re looking for a B&B in Antwerp with true character, don’t look any further!

Surroundings

The Expo area is a quiet neighbourhood full of beautiful buildings with the architectural style of the 1930’s. There are direct transport links to the city’s historical centre via tram, bus or shared-bicycles.
